The Next Riot

Court Cases

I was going to list the court cases, but when I looked at a litigation tracker there are so many. As of 2/19/22 there are 15 civil cases that are still active and 4 criminal cases.

G.O.P. Declares Jan. 6 Attack as a "Legitimate Political Discourse"

I think the Republican party has now completed its split into two separate groups. All that is left is the fight for the Republican name.

Election Fruad Claim

Trump continues to claim that the election was stolen from him. Take a step back and ask the question how would he know this. It isn't like he personally witnessed an event. He would have been told about it by someone else. Who would have told him this and why have they not come forward with that hard evidence that would stand up in a court of law. There are two obvious paths of information that could have told Trump that something was wrong with the election. The first is from the Federal Election Security Agency. The head of that organization was Christopher Krebs, appointed by Trump. He was fired by Trump in November of 2020 after he claimed that the election secure and the results were accurate. If he would have had evidence of fraud, wouldn't he have come forward?

Because fraud in a federal election is also a crime, the other path of information would have been through the Department of Justice. At the time of the election, the DOJ was being run by Barr, also a Trump appointee. Barr released a statement after the election saying that there was no significant fraud and the election was fair. He was also out of the office effective December 23 2020 shortly after making that statement. His replacement was acting attorney general Jeff Rosen. Rosen also wouldn't say the election was corrupt.

So the question is who told Trump about the fraud and why did they not come forward with the evidence in the court cases?

Of course the other option is that the claims of fraud are an opinion not based in fact.

For the people that are making the claim that the election, it is up to you to provide evidence of such claims. The evidence needs to be able to stand up in a court of law.

If you don't fix the root causes, there will always be the next riot.

If you only agree with a source of information when it matches your view point, you are stuck in a bubble.

If you are told something that turns out to not be true, maybe you should trust that source a bit less.

Truth:

We don't always know what is the truth, but we should always strive for it. Science is one of the best methods for getting closer.
